Petr Barinka is a multimedia visual artist graduated from the studio of Czech sculptor Kurt Gebauer at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Czech republic. Bařinka developed his visual concepts also in the framework of the postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia in the painting studio of Ivan Csudai and worked with visual schemes of modernism and digital image.

In his artwork he continually uses wide range of techniques: painting, sculpture, photography, film, digital print and animation. He also experiments with different materials and techniques, such as embroidery, etc. Behind the variety of the used materials is always clearly recognizable his unique author's voice. In his work he combines a seemingly naïve fairytale elements with more serious issues related to memory, unconsciousness, fear and imagination. In other words, the author produces artworks that are printed into his and other percipients memory.

In 2009, Petr Barinka became a laureate of the prestigious NG 333 Prague National Gallery Award and his artwork is in the Prague National Gallery collection. In 2015, petr Barinka was awarded international ESSL ART AWARD - VIG Special Invitation.
